Developed in cooperation with MIT-Haystack and NRAO, this rack mountable recorder features two bank hot-swappable 8-drive modules. The Mark 5B+ can record continuously, 24x7 (requires operator intervention) and is designed to be the next generation VLBI data system.
Fully configured, the Mark 5C supports up to 16 TB of storage per module, for a combined capacity of 32TB. When one module bank is full the hardware can switch to an empty module in the alternate bay. Full modules can be powered down and replaced to allow recording to continue indefinitely. The Mark 5C includes the Mark 5C 10GigE interface board.Mark 5C VLBI Data System Specifications| Data rate | 4+ Gb/s ~ sustained | | Disk drives | 16 drives | | Duration | 24x7 recording in Pendulum mode | | Media | Solid state, 2.5" or 3.5" SATA | | Internal interface | PCI Bus 66 MHz/64 bit | | External interface | Mark 5B 10 GigE interface board | | Power | ATX 810W | | Dimensions | (5U) 9” H x 19” W x 26” D | | OS | Red Hat Linux
