News : Conduant Corp. Introduces Sustained Playback While Record

January 20, 2004

LONGMONT, Colorado, January 20, 2004 – Conduant Corporation, the leading developer of direct-to-disk, long duration recording and playback systems, announced today support for sustained Playback-While-Record on its Big River and StreamStor™ direct to disk recorders. This capability responds directly to the need to process data while recording a long duration, real-time stream in military, aerospace, scientific research and instrumentation applications.

Conduant’s Playback-While-Record (PWR) is available as a software update to the company’s high-end Big River and StreamStor products or bundled with new recorders. Conduant’s asynchronous playback while record supports aggregate data rates up to 160 MB/second.

"Conduant’s direct-to-disk StreamStor recording technology combined with the latest playback-while-recording feature allows us to process data in real time while continuing to record data at very high rates," noted Andrei Sukhanov, Scientific Associate
